STRONG SPEAKER
Ages 12+
Debate and Discover helps children use spoken English with confidence in a supportive and encouraging environment. Through guided, age-appropriate debates, children learn how to share their ideas clearly, listen carefully to others, and respond thoughtfully, without feeling rushed or judged.
Our Kiducators introduce interesting, relevant topics such as animal welfare or the impact of social media, guiding children step by step as they research, prepare, and present their ideas. Along the way, children naturally strengthen reading and writing skills through preparation, note-taking, and reflection.
As part of the course, a team of students has the opportunity to take part in the bi-annual debate competitions organised by Debate Club Zurich, held at the renowned ETH Zurich in spring and autumn. Participation is designed to be a positive and confidence-building experience, allowing children to apply their skills in a real-world academic setting.
Debate and Discover supports children in becoming confident speakers who can think critically, express ideas clearly, and communicate with confidence, skills that transfer easily across languages and support learning at school and beyond

Yes. The communication and confidence-building skills developed in the class are highly transferable and can support children later in school, particularly for presentations and apprenticeship interviews.
